The book collects a selection of about sixty works created by Francesco Arena from 2004 to 2019, in addition to the two critical texts by Vincenzo De Bellis (curator and associate director of the Walker Art Center's programs in Minneapolis) and Jacopo Crivelli Visconti (curator of the 34th Biennale of São Paulo). These essays analyze the artist's research fundemental themes, such as the relationship between man and time and how this shapes the spaces in which we live.

The monograph is completed by a conversation between Francesco Arena and Ines Goldbach (Lost in the meaning), by the texts of Vincenzo de Bellis (Lost in time. Still searching) and Jacopo Crivelli Visconti (Lost in space. Still moving) and by the technical sheets of all the Artworks, accompanied by images and short abstracts written directly by the artist.

Francesco Arena (Torre Santa Susanna, Brindisi, 1978) Attended at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lecce, now he lives and works in Cassano delle Murge in the Bari's district and from there he confronts history by generating essential and metaphorical sculptural forms.

His research often moves along two tracks - the one of collective history, in particular national, and that of personal biography - which create two lines that touch, overlap, cross between them. In his performances, installations and sculptures, the chronicle "in-shape" the objects, whether they are everyday objects  (diaries, cigars, lounge furniture) or made with traditional sculpture materials (marble, slate, bronze).

Ines Goldbach is director of the Kunsthaus Baselland since 2013. She received her PhD with a thesis on the artist Jannis Kounellis and Arte Povera. Previously she worked for several years as curator at the Hallen für Neue Kunst Schaffhausen for the Raussmüller collection and at the Art History Institute of the University of Freiburg in Breisgau.

Vincenzo De Bellis is one of the most famous Italian contemporary art curators. He is curator and associate director of events at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.

Jacopo Crivelli Visconti is an italian art critic. He will be the curator of the 34th São Paulo Biennial, one of the most important cultural events in South America, to be held in 2020.
