Lost Horizon

2016
Stone, books;
157 x 32 x 16 cm

Lost Horizon is a monolith of dark grey stone cut in such a way that 19 different editions of the book Lost Horizon by James Hilton can be placed on top. Although the books are of different sizes, their upper edges are in line, and arranged at the artist’s eye level. This piece was born from a random encounter between the artist and the book at a second-hand book stall. The artist has not read the book and wishes to maintain a relationship with it based exclusively on the title.
